“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”

I’m Dr Afraz Adam. I’ve spent quite a big chunk of my medical career fixing people across Australia, Fiji and New Zealand. I’ve worked across multiple disciplines in medicine and my prime interest has been centred around the field of Urgent Care. Over the course of these years, I had become engrossed with treating particularly unwell patients. I slowly learnt along the way that an individual’s happiness, inner strength and self-confidence is primarily dependant on a calm mind and good health. Edison has inspired me to stand on top of the cliff and stop our members from tripping over the edge rather than waiting at the bottom and patching them up after they’ve crashed.
I have a keen interest in Men’s Health. Unbeknown to most men, the ageing process puts us at risk of `Man’opause (medically referred to as Andropause). This can emulate the symptoms very similar to menopause experienced by women. The steep decline in testosterone levels lead to fatigue, exhaustion, ill health, mental fog, weight gain and irritability, all of which is often put down to ‘becoming a grumpy old man’. Not all is lost though; by developing an approach tailored to each individual’s genes, lifestyle and environment, I hope to help the members at Edison address these issues before they arise.
When I’m not working, you’ll often spot me on a long hike with friends, walking or running for charity, trying out the latest new restaurant on the block or spending time with my family, usually somewhere exotic. If you look hard enough, you might even spot me on TV.

That’s all folks, see you at Edison!
